Refreshing savoury porridge 

This warming and at the same time refreshing tasting porridge is, despite the variety, not that time-consuming to prepare and should be ready in about 20 minutes. In any case, it clearly outperforms the "Indian-style" porridge in terms of speed.

Ingredients for 2 persons preferably organic:

  • 500 ml water
  • 10 tablespoons oat or buckwheat flakes
  • 100g sprouts (alfalfa/ radish sprouts or similar)
  • 1 Chicorée
  • 1 small bowl of cress
  • 6-10 walnuts
  • 1 Apple
  • 3 tablespoons linseed oil

Preparation:

  • Bring water to the boil
  • Stir in the oat flakes or buckwheat flakes and simmer over a low heat for as long as let simmer until the desired consistency is reached (the longer the better, approx. 15min, add water if necessary).
  • Porridge with a pinch of salt, pepper, cinnamon, cardamom or other spices to taste.
    refine the taste.
  • Wash the sprouts, cress, chicory and apple under running water.
  • Cut apple and chicory into bite-sized pieces
  • Crack the walnuts and set the kernels aside
  • Mix all the fresh ingredients in a deep plate or cereal bowl, drizzle the linseed oil over it and add the porridge while it is still warm. and add the porridge while it is still warm.

Falls ihr zu einer langsamen Verdauung bzw. Völlegefühl neigt dann empfehle ich euch, dass ihr die frischen Zutaten schnell unter das heiße Porridge mischt, so dass es noch gut durchwärmt wird (oder sogar noch früher).

Walnuts make way for hazelnuts or sesame or hemp seeds. Depending on the season and availability, the nutty and pungent flowers of the nasturtium are not only a decorative feast for the eyes, but also a treat for the palate:-)
